Upper East Branch

The Rocky River’s Upper East Branch drains 21.7 square miles upstream of, and including, Hinckley Lake.  It contains portions of Hinckley Township in Medina County, Richfield Township in Summit County, and the cities of Broadview Heights and North Royalton in Cuyahoga County.  52% of the watershed area is covered by forest, while 20% is residential development.  Only 7% is traditional agriculture, but the 12% of the watershed land use that is pasture is indicative of the presence of multiple horse stables.
