Cedar Valley Festival in RR Reservation Sunday, September 15!

Travel Back To The Pioneer Days

With Cleveland Metroparks

 

Put down the smart phone and experience history at Cedar Valley Settlers Celebration & Music Festival at the Frostville Museum in Rocky River Reservation with hands-on activities, demonstrations, music, food and more.

               

Join Cleveland Metroparks on Sunday, September 15 from 11 a.m. to

5 p.m. and try your hand at candle dipping, writing with a quill, making apple cider and storytelling. Learn about the skills it took for people to survive and provide for themselves without technology or electricity, and take a break to sample freshly churned butter, homemade apple butter and more.Visitors can also bring a lawn chair or blanket and enjoy the sounds of great folk and Americana music throughout the day on the main stage, including local bluegrass bands and nationally touring act, Good Lovelies.

 

11 - 11:45 a.m.   Front Porch

1 - 3:30 p.m.        Northwest Territory

3 - 5 p.m.             Good Lovelies

               

Pioneer-costumed folks will also be on hand to share stories from this by-gone era, and you can visit the Dancing Tent to learn square and contra dancing, a form of folk dancing.

               

Frostville Museum is located off Cedar Point Road in Rocky River Reservation, between Valley Parkway and Columbia Road/Route 252 in North Olmsted.

               

Parking is available at Frostville Museum, Little Cedar Point Picnic Area, Rocky River Nature Center and Lagoon Picnic Area. Visitors are encouraged to bike over from the Lagoon Picnic Area.
