2014 Annual Meeting of the Rocky River Watershed Council

2014 Annual Meeting of the Rocky River Watershed Council

The Annual Meeting held at Allard Lodge in Granger Township of Medina County was just a stones throw from a stream/wetland mitigation project going on to the south in Granger Ditch. Ray Stewart of the Ohio Wetlands Association gave those in attendance a tutorial of the types wetlands and the function they serve in the watershed. Ray was followed by Vincent Messerly of the Ohio Wetlands Foundation that is responsible for the mitigation project ongoing at a 150 acre property along Granger Ditch. Vince discussed the role of wetlands mitigation and offered some insight into the plans taking shape to reconnect Granger Ditch to its floodplain wetlands.
