Field trip and picnic at NASA Plum Brook Station
Leader: John Blakeman
Target species: grassland birds, dare we hope for a Sedge Wren or a Dickcissel?
For Plum Brook, the registration deadline is Wednesday, June 29, 2011. All attendees must be US citizens, and adults must bring photo id. To register, e-mail, call, or write to Penny O’Connor firstname.lastname@example.org (216)676-4859, 4534 Grayton Rd. Cleveland, Ohio 44135. Be sure to include your full name, address and telephone number.
Plum Brook is home to unique varieties of the New England aster and Lakeside/Great Lakes daisy. The site is reclaimed farm and forest land, taken before the age of herbicides. Our trip will be largely a natural history tour of Plum Brook Station. We will caravan 7-8 miles, with 4-7 stops in significant habitats. Bring a lunch, as we will stop to bird and picnic along the way. (sorry, no grills)
